Based on the history of the last 5 years, inflation always occurs in January, however inflation in January 2024 is relatively lower than the previous year. Competition between physical store businesses and e-commerce stores as well as between e-commerce stores themselves has led to fierce competition in terms of prices, so it is not easy for business owners to increase or even maintain the prices of their goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The total volume of goods transported in 2023 through Domestic Maritime Transport was 351.02 million tons (an increase of 9.47% compared to 2022), while that transported by rail was 67.16 million tons (an increase of 8.49% compared to 2022). The development of freight transport is also at a higher level compared to 2019 (pre-pandemic), when only 297.77 million tons of goods were transported by domestic maritime transport and 51.11 million tons by rail. This indicates that freight transportation, in general, continues to increase. The availability of online trading has enabled people throughout Indonesia to continue purchasing goods even during the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In the BPS Quarterly Report for Q3 2023, it is written that the fields with the highest growth are Transportation &amp; Warehousing (14.74%), Other Services (11.14%), and Accommodation &amp; Food Services (10.9%). This growth is driven by increased production activities, community mobility, visits by foreign tourists, the holding of several national and international events, and the start of political activities ahead of the elections. However, the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia in 2023 was 11,677,825 visits, still below the pre-COVID-19 pandemic level of 16,106,954 visits in 2019. The Accommodation &amp; Food Services sector is believed to continue growing in line with the global easing of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The BPS Q3 2023 report also states that the growth of the manufacturing industry is supported by the increasing metal goods industry with a growth rate of 13.68% for computer, electronic, optical, and electrical goods. It is also supported by the growth of the basic metal industry by 10.86%, driven by foreign demand for ferronickel and nickel matte products.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In terms of expenditure, Indonesia's economic growth in Q3 2023 mainly comes from Household Consumption and Gross Fixed Capital Formation. Spatially, the highest growth occurred in the Sulawesi region (6.44%), as well as Maluku and Papua (9.25%). Economic growth in these regions is mainly due to manufacturing, mining and quarrying, and trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">During August 2022-August 2023, the fields that absorbed the most labor were Accommodation &amp; Food Services (1.18 million people), Construction (0.77 million people), and Agriculture (0.75 million people). This unemployment rate decreased by 0.56 million compared to August 2022.
